So now I'm on the verge of graduation. I've studied wood science for about three and a half years now and soon it'll be over. I'm doing a final research. The topic is something similar to "Durability of bent plywood and skateboard as a sample of it".
As many know, I hope, I use Estonian birch when I make skateboards which is more fragile than Canadian maple (sugar maple). The purpose of my research is to find out how big is the gap between two of the species. Ive made some tests with special apparatus shown on pictures below.
The gap is'nt so huge as I thought. It is a matter of only 134 N. And as I found out, the board that consists only of Estonian birch outperforms a Fiberlam board.

So I'll try not to wander from my research subject into the space of the ineresting Internet and stop blogging for another year.
